How long deposits, transfers and withdrawals take

Last updated: September 29, 2026

Primary processes requests during Sydney business hours. Anything requested after 3:30pm Sydney time, or on a weekend or NSW public holiday, is processed the next business day. The Withdraw and Rebalance screens show the next processing cut off. After Primary processes a request, the provider's own cut off and settlement time apply. The times below are the usual case, not a guarantee.

Deposits into Primary

  • Macquarie CMA (AUD): usually the same or next business day, depending on your bank.

  • Primary FX accounts (USD and other currencies): 1 to 3 business days for international transfers. Include the payment reference shown on the deposit screen.

  • Straight into a fund: the money lands in the provider's clearing account, then a trade is placed. Allow the fund's settlement time on top. Click I have made a deposit so we can place the trade.

Primary FX accounts

Conversions settle on the trade's value date, usually the same or next business day. Transfers between FX accounts in the same currency are same day.

AUD 3:30pm Sydney. Other currencies follow the Primary cut off.

US funds run on US business days. A request made on a Friday morning in Sydney is Thursday evening in New York, and a US public holiday adds a day.

Each account shows its settlement time as T+N in the Accounts list and on the Withdraw and Rebalance screens. Term deposits show a lock. The Treasury Schedule tab has a calculator: enter an amount and it tells you how soon you could have it.

Withdrawals to your bank account

A withdrawal takes the settlement time of the slowest account you draw from, then the payout from your CMA or FX account. Same currency payouts go out the same business day Primary processes them. A payout in a different currency adds one business day for the conversion. The Withdraw screen shows the estimated arrival before you submit.

Payments to third parties

Domestic payments in the same currency usually arrive the same or next business day. International payments in another currency add a business day for the conversion and then follow the receiving bank's processing time, often 1 to 3 business days.

If a transfer is running late
