Statements and documents for your auditor or year end
Last updated: September 29, 2026
What you can download yourself
Go to Statements in the left navigation. There are four tabs:
Monthly: a PDF summary of every Primary balance, the yield earned and paid, and our fees for the month. Primary publishes these for you within the first few business days of the following month. You get an email when a new one is ready.
Balance: a PDF showing the balance of each account on a date you choose. Tick Include linked accounts to include the external bank accounts you have connected.
Activity: a ZIP of CSV files, one per account, for import into Xero or NetSuite.
Account: a PDF statement per account showing opening balance, transactions, running balance, interest accrued and paid, and closing balance.
You can generate Balance, Activity and Account statements yourself. Click Generate statements, choose the period or date and the accounts, then Confirm. They appear on the page as soon as they are ready, usually within a minute.
For year end or an audit
Most auditors accept Primary statements. The set we suggest is:
A Balance statement dated 30 June (or your year end), with linked accounts included if you want one document covering everything.
Account statements for each Primary account covering the financial year. Generate one with the statement period set to 1 July to 30 June.
Monthly statements for the year, which show our fees.
For transactions, go to Transactions, set the date filter to Last financial year, and click Export for a CSV. If there are more than 500 transactions we email you a download link within a few minutes. The link works for 7 days.
Documents from the underlying institutions
If your auditor wants statements issued by Macquarie, State Street or BlackRock directly, email support@primary.tech and tell us which entity, which accounts and which period. We request them for you. State Street takes 10 to 15 working days at year end because of the volume of requests, so ask early.
A few things auditors sometimes query:
Fund balances are valued at the unit price on the statement date. A State Street or BlackRock statement dated the same day can show a slightly different figure because the unit price is struck at a different time.
BlackRock funds are accumulating. Yield shows as growth in the unit price rather than as separate payments.
Tax statements for distributing funds (for example the State Street Australian Cash Trust or Floating Rate Fund) are issued by the fund's registry. We can request them for you.
